Huampani, 1982-83
Although inspection of the roofs of the power plant machinery house was a weekly routine, what was before these men was unusual: A pigeon inside a nest. I can not describe the excitement we felt when dad brought him home. He seemed fragile and frightened. Where was mommy? No clue about. No clue.

Feeding him turned out to be a huge task. No one at home had done it before. Smashing corn was easy. To open his delicate beak to drop the food was a different story. But there he was. The guest's bathroom was meant to be his temporary dwelling. Would he know it will be his last one too?

He was too young to fly. Maybe his feathers hadn't grown enought yet? Or was his "golden" cage -the guest bathroom- keeping him from flying? He seemed too anxious to get out though he might had hit the wall a number of times. So, we release him. Go. Go free to the patio. Have your way!
