I would like to share what I have been struggling with at work. Wal-mart, as you all know, is a company based on customer service. After a year and a half at K-mart and almost two years at Wal-mart, I have grown to understand a few things about serving others. I have also, especially lately, grown to think of myself as better than those I was serving. I'm sure any job involving customer service can lead to one thinking there are better than others.
It was the day after Thanksgiving, or Blitz or also Black Friday for those in retail and I was very stressed and aggrevated at the customers in general. I was very close to losing it a few times. I took my lunch and I prayed that God could take my anger and frustration away. I was reminded of Jesus' standard in that he became the very nature of a servant and Mark 9:35 "Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, 'If anyone wants to be first, he must be the very last, and the servant of all.'"
After I returned to work, I was so filled with God's love for others that there wasn't anything that was going to prevent me from helping anyone who needed help. I thank God that he taught me that we are all called to be servants in one way or another while we're here.
I hope I haven't bored anyone with my long story.
Love, Your Brother in Christ Jesus-The King of Kings!!!! amen!!!
Jeff
