Howdy fellow homegroupies!
I've just gotta share w/ y'all what God's been doing in my life recently.
If any of y'all read my prayer request from last week, I was in quite a funk due to a variety of things. My walk with Christ had wandered off somewhere right as I'd been going strong. It was definitely an attack from Satan, because one of the last things he wants is for us to follow and worship our fabulous Father God. For a while, he intruded by giving me thoughts that I didn't need to pray or surrender because it probably "wouldn't work." I was finally able to overcome some of those thoughts because I was being tormented so badly by them. I got others to pray for the situation and began to pray myself.
Then, one night, God totally revived me! It's like I'd been drowning in a turbulent river, and He picked up His weak child out of the water and resuscitated her. All of the evil I'd been feeling from the attacks dispersed immediately. I then lifted up prayers of Praise to our Lord out loud, because Satan can hear our words, not our thoughts.
One way I was able to finally surrender to God was due to a mysterious happening God allowed last week. An old friend of mine, Ryan, came back into my life after 1½ years, out of nowhere. I know that it's God Who brought him back to me. Some of the time, I even felt like God was speaking to me through Ryan when he was guiding me to surrender my troubles and hardships to God. Once I did that, I felt completely new, like it says in 2 Corinthians 5:17, "...if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!"
It has definitely been a huge blessing from God to rekindle my friendship with Ryan. Waiting for God's perfect timing is well worth it, and "As for God, His way is perfect; the Word of the Lord is flawless. He is a shield for all who take refuge in Him." Psalm 18:30
