Hey homegroupies, I thought I'd share something with ya'll about something at work. On Monday, I had no money to eat, so I stayed in the Employee Lounge and read one of the few books that I began tackling during the break. A friend of mine, Tony, sits at the table and tells me that he's so close to believing in Jesus only that people tell him that he can't do the things he likes to do and he sounded very discouraged. I at first wanted to just nod and smile like I always do and go back to reading my book, but I didn't.
I told Tony that it wasn't that believers are forced to quit drinking or stop cursing after they've been saved, but it becomes a reflection of a relationship with Jesus and we do these things out of obediance to Him. Then Tony went on to talk about a program on tv where he saw people speaking in tongues and thought that was weird, and I didn't know how to respond to that, but I let God choose my words and I pray that they reached him.
After work as I was going for my backpack when someone who was in the lounge when I talked to Tony asked me when I came to know the Lord. I told her and we talked some more about God's timing and that I have had a heart to witness to my co-workers since I've become a believer and I give glory to God that He gave me the courage to talk at all.
Please pray for Tony, that he exchanges his fear for salvation and that I am able to fullfill God's purpose in being a witness at work. I pray that I will be truly seeking His will in my life and when I'm at work.
Thank You and God Bless!
Jeff
