So I didn't know if I should put his under prayer requests or under the Sword. Its kind of both, so if you are reading it and you feel led to pray for this than wonderful, if not then be edified and encouraged.
I've been spending a lot of time in prayer and thinking about the mission trips and I've been reading a few verses that I'd like to share with you.
Joel 2:28-32 "And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions...I will pour out My Spirit in those days. And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth...and it shall come to pass that whever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."
The Lord commissioned these trips, He commanded those who have gone and are going, and He laid out the provision and the needs of each person. God has great things planned and I pray that He will pour out His Spirit and fill those who have gone in His name.

To add to what I wrote a moment ago; I'd like to share a few more verses that display the awesome power of the Holy Spirit when He has filled up His followers and moves in power.
Following the Holy Spirit filling the apostle Peter: Acts 2:41 "Then those who gladly recceived his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them. And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles." How awesome is that...3000 new believers came to Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit manifested in the apostle Peter!!!

How about another one:
Acts 4:8, 13, 14 "Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit said to them (High Priests)...Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus. And seeing the man who had been healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it."
Again, the Spirit fills Peter a man is healed in Christ's name and Peter speaks boldly to the High Priests. In the presence of about 5000 people, the High Priests are powerless to stop the gospel from being preached!!!

Acts 4:31 "And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness."
That is awesome, lets have prayer times like that. The Holy Spirit rocks the place...

Acts 6:5, 8, 10 "And they choose Stephen, a man full of faith and the Holy Spirit...and Stephen, full of faith and power did great wonders and signs among the people...and they (those disputing Stephen from the temple) were not able to resist the wisdom and the Spirit by which he spoke." Well that will shut them up...behold the word of the Lord will not be quieted by the instruments of Satan. Rock on Holy Spirit.

Acts 9:17, 21, 22 "and Ananias went his way and enterd the house; and laying his nads on him he said, 'Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus who appeared to you on the road as you came, has sent me that you may recieve your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.'...Then all who heard were amazed...Saul increased all the more in strength, and confounded the Jews who dwelt in Damascus, proving that this Jesus is the Christ." The Spirit got his attention, filled him up and sent him out. Then throught the power of the Spirit, Saul's testimony confounded the Jews and proved that Jesus was the Christ!!! Awesome again.

Acts 11:23, 24 Talking about Barnabus who is preaching at Antioch: "When he came and had seen the grace of God, he was glad, and encouraged them all that with purpose of heart they should continue with the Lord. For he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a great many people were added to the Lord." Whoop!!! The Spirit does it again, and a "great many people were added to the Lord." Amazing!

Acts 13:9,11 "Then Saul, who also is called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked intently at him (a false prophet/sorcerer, a Jew named Bar-Jesus) and said 'O full of all deceit and all fraud, you son of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease perverting the straight ways of the Lord? And now, indeed, the hand of the Lord is upon you, an dyou shall be blind, not seeing the sun for a time.'" The Spirit fills Paul and sends him to stop the false prophet, the soldier of the army of darkness. In the power of the Holy Spirit, this "enemy of all righteousness" is blinded, and the work of the Lord continues...

Luke 24:49 "Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with the power from on high." Jesus sends the Spirit to fill us and the power of the Spirit is worked through the instruments of the Lord. There is nothing that can stop the work of the Lord from being completed, and through His wonderous signs and the power of the Spirit many were and will be saved and added to the Lord's numbers.
The book of Acts ends with an amazing verse. In a time of persecution and danger for the apostles. A time when their lives were in danger for speaking about Christ, Acts finishes out with an amazing testimony.
Acts 28:30, 31 "Then Paul dwelt two whole years in his own rented house, and received all who came to him, preaching the kingdom of God and teaching the things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ with all confidence, no one forbidding him."
What a testimony to the power of the Holy Spirit, the faith and boldness of believers, and the unstopable will of the Lord!!! May the trips be filled with the Holy Spirit, and may the Kingdom of God be preached with all confidence!!!
