"But you dear friends, build yourselves up in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit. Keep yourselves in God's love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life Be merciful to those who doubt; snatch others from the fire and save them;..."
It is true that Jesus said that "No one can come to me unless my Father draws him". Also we know that "how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard?" So, Judas' emphasizes the responsability we have as followers of Christ to "contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to the saints" specially against those who "change the grace of our God into a license for inmorality...". Is it clear to us then what is meant by "snatching others from the fire"? Maybe the following quote help us see the point:
"Could a mariner sit idle if he heard the drowning cry? Could a doctor sit in comfort and just let his patients die? Could a fireman sit idle, let men burn and give no hand? Can you sit at ease in Zion with the world around you d.a.m.n.e.d?"
